Competitor Intelligence
Understand how AI compares your brand with competitors.
Kojable helps you examine which competitors AI assistants recommend, how they describe the differences and where your company's strengths or capabilities may be missing from the answer.
Investigate competitive representation across relevant buyer questions, markets and AI platforms. Competitor Intelligence is a capability within Kojable's AI answer alignment platform.
The free audit includes an initial Competitor Snapshot, alongside Brand Summary and Associated Topics. Detailed competitor analysis, Share of Voice measurement and follow-up work are scoped separately. See what the free AI Brand Audit includes.
Competitive discovery
Your competitors may be shaping the shortlist before a buyer visits your website.
A buyer may ask AI which provider to choose, which alternatives suit a particular need, which products offer a required capability or how two brands compare.
The answer might recommend a competitor, omit your company, overlook an important differentiator or use outdated positioning. It may describe an alternative more specifically or confuse similar products and services. A mention count cannot explain how those distinctions are presented.
Competitor Intelligence is designed for expertise-led B2B companies, consulting and professional services, consumer and ecommerce brands, creator-led businesses and agencies. Marketing, strategy, brand and growth teams can use it to examine the competitive story buyers encounter.
Measured answers describe a particular sample. They do not establish how every buyer researches a purchase or prove revenue loss.
What Kojable measures
Understand your competitive position in AI answers.
Examine presence, descriptions and supporting evidence together. A frequently mentioned competitor may still be described incompletely; an omitted differentiator may need more investigation.
Competitive presence
Which competitors appear in relevant measured answers, and where is your company absent from the options presented?
Share of Voice
How frequently does each brand appear within a defined set of measured questions and conditions?
Competitive framing
How does AI describe your business relative to alternatives, and which comparisons does it make?
Differentiator accuracy
Are important strengths, specialisations, product features and qualifications represented correctly against reliable reference information?
Question and market gaps
Where do competitor appearances differ by buyer need, topic, use case or market?
Evidence and citation gaps
Which supporting sources appear for competitors, and what relevant information may be missing for your brand?
Available metrics depend on the measured platform, model and engagement. The written scope defines the question set, coverage and follow-up; not every metric is available for every model or engagement.
Share of Voice explained
Understand AI Share of Voice in context.
Kojable's AI Share of Voice analysis describes competitor visibility within a defined set of measured AI answers. Interpret it with the question set, platform, market, timing and methodology.
AI Share of Voice
Relative presence in the measured answer sample. It describes which brands appear within that sample and under those conditions.
Market share
A commercial measure of sales or market activity. AI answer appearances do not establish a brand's actual share of sales.
Total Addressable Market (TAM)
An estimate of potential market opportunity. The measured answer sample does not estimate the size of that opportunity.
These measures are not interchangeable. AI Share of Voice does not measure actual sales, market share, total demand or TAM. This page describes competitive representation in AI answers, not a separate demand or market-sizing service.
A useful baseline needs a defensible question set and consistent comparison conditions. Select questions around relevant buyer needs, explain what the sample covers and compare compatible collections. A market or language change may require a separate baseline.

How a competitive finding is analysed
Go beyond who appears in the answer.
Use the measured response as the starting point for an investigation, then compare subsequent answers under similar conditions.
Define the comparison
Select relevant competitors, categories, buyer needs and questions. Make the comparison's purpose and limits explicit.
Measure the answers
Capture observed responses under defined platform and market conditions, retaining the question and measurement context.
Examine the framing
Identify recommendations, comparisons, omissions and descriptions. Check whether important distinctions are accurately represented.
Investigate the evidence
Review available citations and information supporting each brand, including where relevant evidence is missing or outdated.
Prioritise improvements
Identify missing differentiators, outdated explanations and useful information gaps for your team to investigate or address.
Retest
Compare subsequent answers under similar conditions and document movement without treating every change as the effect of your work.
Monitor → Diagnose → Improve → Verify
Turn competitive gaps into a clearer brand story.
- Monitor
- Establish which brands appear and how they are represented in the agreed answer sample.
- Diagnose
- Investigate overlooked strengths, missing use cases, outdated descriptions and relevant third-party information.
- Improve
- Clarify what makes your company different. Correct product or service descriptions, strengthen comparison information and documentation, add missing use cases and support important claims with evidence.
- Verify
- Retest comparable questions after changes to see what moved, what stayed stable and what still needs attention.
Your team reviews and approves changes. Publishing, implementation, outreach and testing depend on the agreed scope. Compare brands across the AI platforms in scope.
Our platform groups are Google, Meta, ChatGPT and Claude. Comparisons depend on the exact measured surface, model, market, question set and time; coverage is agreed in the written engagement scope.
Google- Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews are distinct experiences. Keep the tested Google surface attached to each comparison.
Meta- We measure grounded Muse Spark answers through Meta’s API. The Meta Model API uses web-search grounding; these measurements do not monitor private or personalised AI conversations inside Instagram, WhatsApp or Facebook.
ChatGPT- Compare answers under the recorded OpenAI model and access conditions. API measurements do not cover every ChatGPT consumer mode or account type.
Claude- Use the Claude models and surfaces agreed for the engagement. Anthropic API access does not imply universal consumer application coverage.
Practical answers
Frequently asked questions about Competitor Intelligence
What is Competitor Intelligence for AI search?
Competitor Intelligence examines how AI-generated answers include, compare and differentiate your brand and its alternatives. Kojable connects competitive presence, framing and evidence gaps to practical investigation and comparable retesting.
How does Kojable compare my brand with competitors?
Kojable measures relevant buyer questions and examines which brands appear, how they are described and what supporting evidence is available. The comparison retains the question set, platform, market and measurement conditions, with available metrics defined by the agreed scope.
What is AI Share of Voice?
AI Share of Voice describes relative brand presence within a defined sample of measured AI answers. It must be interpreted with the underlying question set, platform, market, timing and methodology.
Is AI Share of Voice the same as market share or TAM?
No. AI Share of Voice describes presence in a measured answer sample; market share concerns sales or market activity, while TAM estimates potential market opportunity. AI Share of Voice does not measure actual sales, total demand or TAM.
How are competitors and measurement questions selected?
The comparison should use relevant alternatives and questions tied to your category, buyer needs and market. Define a defensible question set and consistent comparison conditions in scope, rather than treating a few favourable answers as a complete competitive picture.
What if AI recommends a competitor instead of my brand?
A competitor recommendation is a finding to investigate, not proof that your brand lost a sale. Review the buyer need, the answer's framing and its evidence, then prioritise missing differentiators or information gaps for your team's review and scoped follow-up.
Which AI platforms does Kojable cover?
Kojable's platform focus is Google, Meta, ChatGPT and Claude, with exact coverage agreed in writing. Google experiences remain distinct, and Meta measurements use grounded Muse Spark answers through the Meta Model API with web-search grounding. API testing does not include every consumer application surface.
Can Kojable guarantee that AI will recommend us over competitors?
No. Kojable cannot control third-party AI recommendations or guarantee that your brand will outrank, replace or be chosen over competitors. It helps teams investigate competitive gaps, prepare improvements and retest comparable answers.
